The object of this article is to present the theology of liberation as theological discourse that combines historical praxis with liberating Christian hermeneutics, contextualized in situations of poverty and social exclusion for a large part of Latin American population. The methodology reflects the intrinsic combination between the options of believer and liberating praxis; hence, it speaks of a triple mediation: the socio-analytic, the hermeneutic theological and pastoral practice. The principal conclusion is that it is about a liberating narrative that starts from the history of exploitation on the Latin American continent within the interpretative perspective of liberation.
