Abstract

Attention to gender issues in itself awakens all kinds of discussions, from the distrust of some to the logical questions about its specificity and, therefore, about the relevance or not of opening lines of research that feed ideas about differences. intergenders. In the case of the study and education of particularly well-endowed people, the problems increase, because for many the issue of giftedness itself produces a kind of rejection, which is sometimes attempted to be justified with arguments of distributive justice: if there are so many people who have the minimum or even less, why dedicate energy and resources to studying and trying to help those people who are gifted. But this is nothing more than ignoring that people who are particularly gifted in certain learning have, for different reasons, more problems of adaptation and social integration than is usually believed. So we find ourselves, in this exciting book, at the confluence of two highly controversial issues: gender and giftedness. Both separately seem to require, to a certain extent, justification as areas of social psychological and educational knowledge; However, together they acquire a high level of relevance.
