Abstract

The Word in its divine essence is presented to us in the Popol Vuh, Quiche-Maya Sacred Book, with an entire philosophical dimension, wielded in the poetic and symbolic language of that pre-Columbian culture. This is captured in the presence of a supreme God, Kabawil, shown throughout the entire process that creation follows. Which is carried out in the north of a universal intelligibility, demonstrated in the potentiality of the word, the force of reason and mediation.

The creative act of the Supreme God is based on the power of the word, reasoned, thought that moves throughout the creative act, conceived through several trials until achieving the perfect human being, created in the image and likeness of its creator.
