Abstract

The objective of the investigation that shows the present article was centered in describing the state of the art of the professional exercise of the journalists that work in cybermedia of Zulia state and it is a part of an a more extensive investigation, sponsored by CONDES, called: “Formation and exercise of the cyberjournalism in the state Zulia”. To undertake the problem was taken like starting point the journalistic experiences in cybermedia (Farías y Prieto, 2006, 2007; Mogollón and Prieto, 2006) and the profile of the cyberjournalist defined by Albarrán (2008), Aguirre (2006), Saba (2006), Camus (2002) y Gil (1999). This implied describe and to characterize the teams of professionals that integrate the cybermedia of Zulia to contribute to configuration of the profile of the new journalist that intend to be performed with success in the cyberspace. Since the methodological point of view, was a matter of a descriptive investigation of quantitative-qualitative character with design transeccional where applied as instrument the survey. Among the results emphasize that the cyberjournalistic competences mostly are exploited and associates to the text publishers management and data, as well as Internet, being these sufficient tools to cover the expectations of their works, revealing in this sense to be very far from the theoretical-ethical concept that should support cyberjournalism. It dominates in the cyberediting room professional youths of the masculine gender graduates in the last five-year period, and a lack of consensus in the denominations of charges and functions.
