Communicational Abilities of the Contemporary Manager

The article examines the origin of the organizational communication concept and the different approaches to this controversial concept, which has so many detractors and defenders in the world of management. The concept is analyzed as a capacity, a set or system of attributes, which could allow organizational changes to occur without sizeable traumas for the organizations. Furthermore, the concept is evaluated from the organizational viewpoint, such as the communicational abilities of the manager; the importance of organizational communication, its clarity within organizations, and finally, some guidelines are offered as a contribution to improving the organizational communication process and thereby permitting changes in any organization. In this sense, the present article could be taken as a reference for supporting communication and other actions that contribute to guiding organizational communication procedures for directors and employees, who could increase their levels of knowledge about the communicational process and who would function as multipliers of knowledge directed toward the working community in general.
