Abstract

This study investigated the need and feasibility of creating an online educational platform using the Moodle tool in order to discuss clinical cases and promote multicultural continuing medical education and collaborative work in anesthesiology. The type of research was field, descriptive and exploratory. The design was non-experimental without manipulation of variables, transversal-exploratory-descriptive. The target population included 50 medical professionals, including anesthesiology specialists (35) and anesthesia postgraduate students (15). Data collection was carried out through observational surveys, using a questionnaire composed of 6 questions of which questions 1,2, and 3 were analyzed to determine the need for the development of the virtual platform. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics, complemented by the visual presentation of results through graphs and tables. This approach made it possible to identify the need for the virtual classroom for anesthesia professionals, both for their continuing education and for the discussion of clinical cases, thus contributing to a better understanding of their choice in the context of continuing medical education. It was found that the majority of students preferred online web portals (72%), and 64% of professionals conducted daily searches to stay updated. 100% of the participants used online teaching tools to update scientific information in anesthesiology. The conclusion highlights the justification for the creation of the platform and recommends its implementation, active promotion, continuous monitoring and possible expansion to other institutions and medical specialties.
