Abstract

The objective of this article was to determine the functional requirements for the development of a web platform for the management of social events based on the theoretical approaches of Arias, Pressman, and Pfleeger in the area of software engineering. A mixed methodology was obtained in three phases: software analysis, determination of system requirements, and system design. An interview with open questions made to service providers was used, as well as a questionnaire for potential users for data collection. The research is descriptive and projective, a field with a non-experimental design. The use cases, relational database model, and logic were designed based on the data obtained. The results include the functional requirements of a web platform for the management of social events. The study demonstrates how the application of software engineering principles and the mixed methodology used can be used to determine the requirements for a platform that can be a useful tool for managing social events, which can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of this type of activity around event management.
