Abstract

This article analyzes School Environmental Projects (PRAES) as a teaching strategy to improve the sphere of influence of Environmental Education (EA) in the Trinomial School – Family – Community. It represents a scientific production that offers a look at the progress achieved within the framework of the doctoral research titled "Participatory Environmental Education Strategy from School Environmental Projects (PRAES) for the Improvement of the Sphere of Influence of the Communities of Educational Institutions Manuel Ruiz Álvarez, Victoria Manzur de Amin and El memoria; this research is developed in the city of Montería, Córdoba. Various theoretical references are used such as the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment (1973), the Report on the Objectives of Sustainable Development of the United Nations (2019), contributions from authors such as Leff (2017), Febles Elejalde and Tserej Vázquez (2015), Gutiérrez (2015), official documents of the Ministry of the Environment and Ministry of National Education (July 2002) among others. The methodological approach adopted is qualitative, which allows us to delve into the experiences, perceptions and meanings attributed by the participants in the research, framed in a socio-critical paradigm. Interviews with various actors in the research process, including students, teachers, teaching managers and the community, are the main data collection tool, complemented with a hermeneutical analysis of official texts such as the National Environmental Education Policy of the National Environmental System (SINA), the Institutional Educational Project (PEI) and the School Environmental Projects (PRAE). This allowed us to identify aspects related to the implementation of environmental education and the execution of the PRAES. The results highlight the need to promote a comprehensive and reflective vision on the application of the PRAES to improve the sphere of influence of Environmental Education.
