Abstract

The objective of the research is to analyze digital transformation in the Venezuelan oil industry oriented as a competitive advantage. Becoming a strategic need to incorporate new technologies and new logic so that the business is more efficient and allows new opportunities; being a process formed, when technologies, organizations, as well as people, are intercepted. In the study, a supported bibliographic documentary analysis is carried out to address the topic. On the other hand, digital transformation is shaping the oil industry and automation has reduced downtime, increased efficiency and improved safety. With the advent of the digital era, implementing technologies, developing digital skills, results in a competitive advantage for the Venezuelan oil industry, not only by promoting efficiency and cost reduction, but by achieving a global positioning compared to others. Competitors, which have been adopting digitalization as a spearhead in their operations. It is concluded that the way forward for digital transformation is a process where not only the adoption of new technologies is essential, but how they are woven together and work as an ecosystem, which generates a digital strategy aimed at generating low value. Continuous improvement. Likewise, it is the organization's duty to promote, through training actions, the closing of technological gaps in collaborators who will intervene transversally in the digital path.
