Evaluation of the Strategic Management of CATEMAR, C.A., Casa Matriz

Abstract

The present research evaluates strategic management at CATEMAR, C.A. Headquarters, employing theoretical frameworks from Chiavenato (2017), David and David (2017), and Hill, Jones, and Schilling (2015). The study adopts a descriptive, field-based approach with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The population consisted of six members of the administrative staff. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire of 51 scale-type items, validated by experts. Statistical analysis, based on absolute and relative frequencies and trends, revealed a positive organizational orientation toward the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of strategies, as well as appropriate use of strategic control systems for personnel, results, and behavior. However, weaknesses were identified in the generation of alternative strategies and in the systematization of forecasting at the divisional level. It is recommended to strengthen external analysis capacity, integrate strategic information systems, and promote continuous evaluation of strategies.
